MaryDei – Llais i ofalwyr // Voice for Carers
Designing and re-branding the social enterprise MaryDei, a business set in North Wales.
Vintage MaryDei are a social enterprise helping carers. As a small business which sell vintage clothes, it was vital to get their voices heard on the web and across Wales. Expansion was key and so a re-branding was needed in order to replicate the direction where Vintage MaryDei was heading.
Firstly, we wanted to drop the “vintage” from the main brand name, shortening it to “MaryDei” (named after the owner's parents) so that the care aspect was the heart of the brand. Secondly, revise the colour scheme and update the website's design for more interactivity and to produce a more inviting layout for customers. And finally, update the marketing material and our message for the audience. The brand has three smaller sub sections for “Vintage” (selling vintage clothes), “Events” (for the many cultural and entertainment events MaryDei hosts), and “Recycling” (for the recycling and up cycling of clothes).
The typography change was to reflect the more elegant side of MaryDei and their vintage stock, but also have a bold type for the main important message behind the social enterprise.
